The Pips Project vs TraderSync (2026): An Honest Comparison
12 September 2026 · By The Pips Project team · 7 min read
TraderSync and The Pips Project are both trading journals — but they're built for different traders. TraderSync is a mature, broad, multi-asset journal covering hundreds of brokers; The Pips Project is an automation-first journal focused on MetaTrader, forex/XAU and prop-firm traders. Here's a fair, current comparison so you can pick the right one.
Pricing
TraderSync has no free plan. Its tiers are roughly $29.95/mo (Pro), $49.95/mo (Premium) and $79.95/mo (Elite), cheaper billed annually, with a 7-day trial. Its AI (Cypher AI) is gated to the Premium tier and up. (Check tradersync.com for current pricing.)
The Pips Project has a free forever plan (100 trades, core stats), and Pro at $13/month or $129/year at introductory prices, taxes included (₹899/month or ₹7,999/year in India), with AI trade review included in Pro rather than reserved for a higher tier.
MetaTrader & forex
Both support MetaTrader. TraderSync's strength is breadth — 700+ broker integrations across stocks, options, futures and forex. The Pips Project is narrower on purpose: MT5 auto-sync via a small agent that runs on your own machine (so broker credentials never sit on our servers), plus AI import from a chart screenshot or a broker statement, and CSV/HTML import.
Prop-firm features
This is the clearest difference. The Pips Project has a purpose-built Prop-Firm Risk Guardian that tracks daily and total drawdown headroom against your firm's limits in your own trading day — aimed squarely at FTMO/FundingPips-style challenges. TraderSync is a general-purpose journal; it doesn't center on prop-firm drawdown rules.
AI trade review
Both offer AI. TraderSync's AI sits behind its Premium/Elite tiers. The Pips Project includes AI trade review (process-based grading + a coaching note) in its single Pro tier, and also uses AI to read trades off a chart or statement image.
Who should choose which
- Choose TraderSync if you trade multiple asset classes (US stocks, options, futures) across many brokers, want a long-established tool with a large broker list and a mature mobile app, and price isn't the deciding factor.
- Choose The Pips Project if you're a MetaTrader forex/XAU or prop-firm trader who wants auto-sync, prop-firm drawdown tracking, AI review included, lower pricing, and a free tier to start.
