FundingPips Trading Journal: Track Your Limits on the Server Clock
3 October 2026 · By The Pips Project team · 5 min read
FundingPips runs its evaluations on MetaTrader, so every rule is measured on the broker server clock, not your own. That single detail is behind a lot of failed challenges. Here is what a FundingPips trading journal needs to track, and how to set one up.
The clock is the trap
MetaTrader-based firms almost always reset the daily loss limit at midnight on the server clock, which is usually Eastern European Time (UTC+2 in winter, UTC+3 in summer). That is rarely your midnight. Confirm the reset in your FundingPips dashboard rather than assuming it, and read the server time in MetaTrader's Market Watch to work out your offset.
Our FundingPips rules page walks through finding the reset and converting it to your time.
What to track every day
- Today's loss on the firm's day, including open trades.
- Distance to the maximum drawdown, and whether your programme uses a static or trailing one.
- Risk per trade, so a single loss can never take more than you planned.
- Consistency, if your programme limits how much of the profit one day may contribute.
Setting it up in The Pips Project
- Add your challenge account with FundingPips as the firm, plus its size and phase.
- Connect the MetaTrader 5 sync app, so every trade arrives by itself.
- Before each session, open the Risk tab: it shows today's remaining loss on the server-clock day, your distance to the drawdown floor and which limit is closest.
- After each trade, review it with replay and the AI review, and tag what went wrong.
Because FundingPips' reset time is not something we have independently confirmed with the firm, the Risk tab labels it as assumed and you can check it against your dashboard. Rules change; always follow the ones on your account.
